Construction of the new block of the DayStar Home in progress Children of the Home Ever since its inception we could give care and education to more than 226 kids for varying periods of time .These kids are desperately poor mostly brought from inaccessible hill tops of high altitude and forest areas. It is even beyond one’s imagination to think of kids living in huts on hilltops having no road connectivity- climbing steep hill slopes walking several hours to reach. Children are identified by the Childline and approved by the District Child Welfare Committee then alloted by District Child Protection Officer. People belonging to scheduled tribe(ST) and Scheduled caste(SC) form the majority of the population in this area . All kids are anaemic and they are prone to dreaded diseases like cerebral malaria, tuberculosis and waterborne diseases like cholera and other gastro-enteric disorders. Spring water forming hill streams is the only source of water –for drinking, bathing, washing clothes etc. At such a needy place –most neglected and untouched by developmental agencies –ours is a light lit for those not cared by others- for building their lives and to bring them to the world of opportunities.
